If your current mailbox is secured to any type of wood 4x4 configuration, you can modify it by cutting it to a straight up 42" (MUST BE 42") to accept The Handy Post Sleeve. The reason for the 42" wood height is so that when installing your mailbox mounting plate, there will be something for your screws to engage.
