Binc Year-End Campaign Continues with Giving Tuesday Opportunity for Donors to Double Their Gift

The Book Industry Charitable (Binc) Foundation’s year-end campaign, I Stand with Book and Comic Stores, needs to raise $150,000 before Dec. 31, 2024, to ensure it can continue its commitment to never turn anyone in need away.

To date, 390 grants have been provided to book and comic people and their families compared to 312 in all of 2023.

“The people who keep the doors of our beloved community bookstores and comic shops open need our support more now than ever,” said Binc Executive Director Pam French. “Binc is receiving 60% more calls for help from booksellers and comic retailers than before the pandemic. There are many worthy causes seeking support this Giving Tuesday and we’re grateful to everyone who thinks Binc.”

Penguin Random House matched the first $15,000 in gifts. A Giving Tuesday match from an anonymous comic retailer will be available to all donors beginning Dec. 3. The retailer will match all gifts dollar for dollar, doubling the power and impact of donations received up to a total of $10,000.

“Comics, games, and books have been a delightful part of my life,” said an anonymous comic retailer who came forward to offer a second match. “The stores that support them have been my job, my passion and my relief. Binc helps give back in support of independent stores when we need it most.”

In addition, Binc supporters will get an audiobook of their choice from Libro.fm. Give $100 and get one audiobook credit; give $500+ and get three audiobook credits. This offer is available until Dec. 31, 2024.
