Binc has launched a holiday gift guide featuring items that give back to the Foundation and gifts from over 30 indie bookstores nationwide.
The Book Industry Charitable (Binc) Foundation launched its first-ever holiday gift guide (https://www.bincfoundation.org/2020-gift-guide/). Featuring an assortment of gifts, the guide includes items that give back to Binc, and therefore support booksellers in need, along with a wide array of unique offerings from over 30 indie bookstores across the country.
Pam French, Binc’s executive director says: “We know how important the holiday shopping season is to independent bookstores, and we’re excited to showcase products from a number of indie bookstores. We hope the gift guide will help shoppers support those stores in a new way.”
The gift guide will also include an exclusive Binc t-shirt designed by illustrator and designer Henry Sene Yee. “What Binc does for indie bookshops and comic book stores is amazing. I’m thrilled to be a part of it––and I hope everyone loves the t-shirt,” says Yee.
Thanks to the generosity of donors, Binc has been able to help over 600 households since January along with hundreds of independent book and comic book stores across the United States. The need continues today, and every week Binc hears from store employees facing a myriad of issues related to COVID, national disasters, medical crises, and other unforeseen emergencies. “We are still in a very precarious moment with rising COVID rates and a steep decline in foot traffic during the most important sales season for stores,” says French, “the gift guide is our way of raising funds while reminding everyone to shop indie this holiday season.”
